Liège as a couple

A romantic weekend in Liege
Want to surprise your partner?
Liège is also a place for romance! With its small picturesque streets, spa centres, romantic restaurants or a halt at the “Place des amoureux” (lovers’ square), there are many secret and especially romantic places in Liège.

Our ideas for walks

Liège as a couple - Along Meuse River

The banks of the MeuseRiver are pleasant in any season, offering a variety of atmospheres and viewpoints. In particular, you can admire several works of modern art by following a special trail (RAVeL). You can find this trail via the application Walks through Liège or leaf through its paper brochure version.

[ToTrad EN] Navette

Strolls through nature

The slopes of the citadel... The countryside in the city and some of the finest views over the Liège valley can be enjoyed from the slopes of the citadel. With a 3-star rating in the Michelin Guide (one of only 3 tourist sites in Wallonia that can boast this distinction), this site of natural heritage spread over 80 hectares can be discovered on foot with a gentle stroll – and be sure not to forget your camera!
Several circuits are available on this map or via the Walks through Liège application.

The Liege country

If you want to go further, the Liège region also boasts pretty romantic sites outside the city: discover the village of Chokier, take a trip around the nature reserve at the Brock gravel pits and observe the birds and beavers who nest there and marvel at the luminosity of the Val-Saint-Lambert crystals.
Saint-Jean Court in Liège
Couple walking in the streets of Liege
There is something mysterious about the cul-de-sacs that punctuate one of the most eye-catching streets in Liège. Formerly inhabited by workers, they are today a haven of tranquillity for those seeking a moment’s calm away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Take a stroll down Impasse de la Vignette or Impasse de l’Ange, the most impressive cul-de-sacs. Whilst you are there, cross the street and discover Cour Saint-Antoine, one of the best kept secrets of the city.

Relax at the spa

There are many opportunities for relaxing in our region, such as the famous thermal baths at Chaudfontaine or Spa, but you can also enjoy an urban formula with the spa center at the Van Der Valkt Sélys hotel. Additionally, there are plenty of Turkish baths and other body care possibilities in the city centre and its outskirts.

Entertainment and cultural venues

Couple visiting the Boverie museum in Liège
Liège is brimming with cultural and entertainment venues…
Take advantage of your visit to Liège to discover the superb Boverie, Cité Miroir or Grand Curtius museums. These museums and their architectural heritage often hold top-quality temporary exhibitions.
For romantic culture, look no further than an unbeatable evening at the Opera or listening to the Philharmonic orchestra, without forgetting the superb Theatre of Liège.
For those seeking something more eclectic, the programmes at the Reflektor or Blue Sphère will satisfy lovers of pop, rock, electro or blues music.
