Pékét is the Walloon name for juniper berries. It also means “zesty”. In the Mosan region, from Maastricht to Namur, it is traditional to make sometimes flavoured eau de vie with it. Pékèt is served everywhere in Liège, especially during the traditional festivities around 15 August.

The Espérance Commerciale in Montegnée and the Lambicool distillery are two locally produced distilleries which make pékèt in the Liège region.

The Lambicool distillery was created by a born distiller, Etienne Bouillon. Located in Grace-Hollogne, it produces a range of products such as the natural and fruity Pékèts d’Etienne as well as a regional apple-based aperitif. The Lambicool distillery offers custom-made distilling to producers.
