Description
Collegiate church founded in 987 under Bishop Notger and incorporated into the city walls. The collegiate church has the oldest Romanesque nave in Liège (1011). Only the choir was rebuilt in Gothic style (15th century). The interior is decorated in Baroque style (late 18th century). The Passion altarpiece is a 16th-century wood sculpture with around 150 figures, as are the shutter panels painted by Lambert Lombard and depicting episodes from the life of Saint Denis.
